The Doctor is in!
Comic Works: A Strange Exhibit
There is something “strange” coming to the Bottle Works Steve Ditko Innovators Studio this summer!
The home of Ditko’s legendary ink pens will become a little more mystical when 31 issues of Marvel Comics – Strange Tales featuring Doctor Strange arrive on display from Ditko Ink!
These books aren’t just incredible pieces of comic history featuring the origins of Steve Ditko’s most magical of creations, they are the books from his personal collection!!! They will be joined by what is believed to be the first-ever sketch of Doctor Strange by Mr. Ditko. A piece he drew on an envelope that accompanied a letter to his younger brother Patrick way back in 1946!
You aren’t going to see these anywhere else but in Steve’s hometown of Johnstown, PA!
Visit the Steve Ditko Innovators Studio and see the most exclusive collection of Steve Ditko memorabilia and books anywhere!

The Bottle Works, in partnership with Victim Services, presents:
Feel it, Post-it, Raise it
One in four individuals experience Intimate Partner Violence. Feeling the hurt from a trusted partner breaking personal boundaries is traumatic and life-altering. Over the last seven years students from 6th-12th grade, attending Cambria and Somerset County schools have shared Post-it Note stories of their boundaries being crossed. Hundreds of these Post-it Notes will be on display at the Bottle Works Ethnic Art Center from January 16 – February 22, 2025, with an opening reception on January 16 from 6-8 PM at our 3rd Thursday on 3rd Avenue Gallery Night.
Victim Services, Inc. invites you to join the conversation on education of healthy boundaries in our community, and violence prevention policies that have been successful in Pennsylvania schools. A series of photographs, poems, and short stories will also be showcased to highlight the very open and public spaces where violence occurs. Please join the community at the reception to help raise further awareness of the difficulties youth in this area face.
Please note that the Bottle Works engages in photography and recording of programs and events for its own print and online publication/promotional purposes. Staff and volunteers will make every effort to notify members of the public when filming and/or photography is taking place. Please notify a staff member/volunteer if you do not want to be photographed or filmed.
