Life Figure Drawing Workshop with Kyle

Draw from life in our Life Figure Drawing Workshop with artist Kyle Reidmiller!
The 4th Saturday of each month from 1-3:30 PM. (unless space is unavailable)
Kyle will teach you the process of drawing the human figure. Students will learn the basics of working on a figurative drawing from life, a draped/partially clothed, or nude model. Gesture drawing, simplified shapes and forms, and contour drawing will be discussed; all methods to measure and proportion to achieve outstanding observational drawings. This workshop is intended to teach the basics, but all levels of experience are welcome. Those with experience can use the workshop as live model time.
Cost: $15 per session or $10 per session for BW Members.
You must be 18 years old to register or be registered and accompanied by a parent/guardian.
About the instructor/moderator:
Kyle Reidmiller is a figurative painter based in Western PA. He received his BFA in Studio Arts-Drawing from IUP in 2016 and his MFA Painting from Edinboro in 2019. As an emerging artist, his practice revolves around drawing and painting people; he has led classes and workshops on portraiture and figure drawing for the last four years.

Your supplies are up to you! A sketch pad and pencil are recommended for starters, but you can feel free to work in your preferred medium. (Charcoal, pastel, graphite, paint…etc.)

Guided step-by-step, you’ll discover how to sculpt soft wool roving into detailed 3D shapes using a felting needle, blending colors and textures to bring your botanical vision to life. Once your individual felted pieces are complete, we’ll string them together into a gorgeous, heirloom-quality decoration ready to brighten up a mantel, window, or entryway every spring. In this relaxing, one-day workshop, you will learn the step-by-step process of transferring a design, scoring your board, and meticulously layering vibrant textiles to build rich, textured imagery. It’s a wonderful, meditative way to upcycle fabric scraps and create a breathtaking, framed work of textile art to display at home. All materials are provided, though participants are welcome to bring favorite small fabric scraps or swatches to give their piece a personal touch!

Discover the fundamentals of metalwork and craft your own custom, wearable art in this hands-on introductory studio! Designed for beginners, Handmade & Handcrafted focuses on essential metal fabrication skills—giving you the foundation to design and build bespoke jewelry pieces from scratch.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to safely cut sheet metal using a jeweler’s hand saw, file and smooth raw edges, use metal hole punches, and apply textured patterns using specialized hammer techniques. Guided step-by-step, you will experiment with cold-connection methods, simple wire loops, and jump ring assembly to turn sheet metal and wire into finished earrings, pendants, or keychains. You’ll leave with custom-crafted jewelry ready to wear or gift, along with core metalworking skills you can build on for future projects! All tools, safety gear, and metals are provided.
