

Learning Impressionism: Acrylic Painting Class w/ Alan Rauch

Have you always wanted to learn to paint? Already have some skills, but you want to fine tune them?
Join painter extraordinaire, Alan Rauch, for a six-week painting class on the basics of acrylic painting.
$100 or $90 for BW Members All ages and skill levels are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Supplies are not included. You should arrive to class with the following: Acrylics, 4 oz tubes, red, yellow, blue, green, black and white, 16×20 canvases, bristle brushes, assorted sizes, pack of white paper plates, water container

Join us for our Ukrainian Pysanka Workshop Series!
Natalka Barvinok will guide you on the art of Pysanka as the Bottle Works continues to celebrate the rich artistic cultural heritage of our region. You can just take the beginners class and advance as you go, or if you have some experience with the craft you may register for the intermediate or advanced session. The best deal is to take all three!!!
In this workshop series, we will progress from simple to more complex designs:
• April 4, 6-9 PM- Beginners: Introduction to Pysanka-making, learning the basics of working with wax and dyes, and creating simple patterns. (no kitska use)
• April 11, 6-9 PM- Intermediate: More advanced designs, focusing on symmetry, traditional patterns, and improving technique.
• April 18, 6-9 PM – Advanced: Mastering intricate designs and understanding the symbolic meanings of different elements in Pysanka art.
All supplies are included.
Minors are welcome if accompanied by a participating adult.
$45 or $40 for BW Members for any one session.
$120 or $100 for BW Members when you register for all 3 classes!

Life Figure Drawing Workshop with Kyle

Draw from life in our Life Figure Drawing Workshop with artist Kyle Reidmiller!
The 4th Saturday of each month from 1-3:30 PM
Kyle will teach you the process of drawing the human figure. Students will learn the basics of working on a figurative drawing from life, a draped/partially clothed, or nude model. Gesture drawing, simplified shapes and forms, and contour drawing will be discussed; all methods to measure and proportion to achieve outstanding observational drawings. This workshop is intended to teach the basics, but all levels of experience are welcome. Those with experience can use the workshop as live model time.
Cost: $15 per session or $10 per session for BW Members.
You must be 18 years old to register or be registered and accompanied by a parent/guardian.
About the instructor/moderator:
Kyle Reidmiller is a figurative painter based in Western PA. He received his BFA in Studio Arts-Drawing from IUP in 2016 and his MFA Painting from Edinboro in 2019. As an emerging artist, his practice revolves around drawing and painting people; he has led classes and workshops on portraiture and figure drawing for the last four years.
Supplies:
Your supplies are up to you! A sketch pad and pencil are recommended for starters, but you can feel free to work in your preferred medium. (Charcoal, pastel, graphite, paint…etc.)
