About Us

Our Recent History
The BOTTLE WORKS and ART WORKS in Johnstown! merged as one entity in January 2014. Now, the once separate companies, exist as one dynamic arts organization operating two cultural centers on Third Avenue in the historic cultural district of Cambria City. With two amazing community facilities, BOTTLE WORKS is proud to be Johnstown’s art mecca where artists can exhibit, create, teach and sell; musicians can perform; and visitors can explore, learn and ENJOY!

The Buildings
The original building is 7,500 sq. feet, with a pristine black box – excellent for a multitude of programming needs- a gallery, a teaching kitchen, several offices, and several artist studio spaces. The second building, all 18,000 sq. feet, was a former industrial building, and lends itself perfectly to large format art, bigger concerts, large classroom spaces, and studios which artists rent. It also boasts a Gallery Shoppe, full of regional artists’ work. Each calendar year, both facilities are booked with exhibits, educational programming, heritage celebrations, and community projects. The two buildings form an arts campus and our yearly visitors total is between 7,500 and 10,000 people.
