Pillar Park

Call to all artists!

Pillar Park

Painters, artists, and designers are invited to submit proposals to paint the underpass pillars visible along the busiest travel corridor in all Cambria County, beneath route 56 in Johnstown PA.

There are 36 pillars supporting the bypass . Phase 3 of the project will focus on pillars at designated areas in the bypass corridor.

Pillar Park organizers chose this unique and highly visible venue to serves as a major vehicle for engaging local citizens, artists, and visitors through art.

“This a very exciting project for Johnstown, and it’s kind of become famous!” said Emma Noonan, BOTTLE WORKS AmeriCorps member. “I have had so many people ask about how they can get involved.  It’s good to have the community want to be involved in something fun and creative.  We have a lot of exciting things planned surrounding the pillars, but that’s going to be a surprise”, she said.
