Carl Potts

CARL POTTS is a creative director, an editor, an artist, and a writer with years of experience in the comics industry. During his time at Marvel Comics, he discovered and mentored many top comics talents, including Jim Lee, Whilce Portacio, and Mike Mignola. Currently, Potts consults for a variety of publishing, interactive, and entertainment companies, including HarperCollins, Ogilvy & Mather, and the Learning Company. In addition, he’s given seminars on visual storytelling techniques at the School of Visual Arts, Parsons, New York University, LucasArts, Academy of Art University, and the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Iconic comic book artist and editor Carl Potts is attending the Ditko Con 2021 mini-con on Sept 11 at the Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center!

Carl will be presenting his lecture on Sequential Visual Storytelling.

Khoi Pham

Superstar artist Khoi Pham is coming to the Ditko Con mini-con on Sept 11!

Khoi will present “Drawing with Intention” a discussion of the mindfulness of communicating through art. Follow along as Khoi “live draws” a Ditko inspired piece, while discussing the tricks of the trade that have helped to make him a successful comic book artist and illustrator. Bring your own drawing supplies, and follow along.

Admission to this workshop is free to Ditko Con attendees at the Amazing or VIP levels. Ditko Con admission is not required to attend the workshop.

Ages 10 and up, minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Cost: $10

Khoi is an artist and mentor. His artworks include DC’s Teen Titans, Marvel’s Mighty Avengers, X-Men Legacy, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Chaos War, Incredible Hercules, Gambit, Mighty Thor, X-Factor, and Topcow’s Cyberforce.  He has done numerous cover illustrations for various publications.

Khoi was an attorney and venture capitalist prior to switching to art and mentoring.  He has a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University.

Robert Jeschonek is a USA TODAY-bestselling, envelope-pushing author based in Steve Ditko’s hometown of Johnstown, PA. He has scripted comics for DC, AHOY, Fractured Scary Tales, and other publishers, and is working with the Ditko family on their book about Steve. His latest projects also include new books in the STARBARIAN SAGA and BATTLENAUT scifi series. Robert has written official STAR TREK and DOCTOR WHO fiction, and his prose stories have appeared in PULPHOUSE, ESCAPE POD, STARSHIPSOFA, and other publications. His young adult slipstream novel, MY FAVORITE BAND DOES NOT EXIST, won the Forward National Literature Award and was named one of BOOKLIST’s Top Ten First Novels for Youth. He also won an International Book Award, a Scribe Award for Best Original Novel, and the grand prize in Pocket Books’ Strange New Worlds contest. His books about the Glosser Bros. and Penn Traffic department stores and the Richland Mall have brought to light vital aspects of the history of his hometown of Johnstown, PA.
