INTRODUCTION TO PIANO: FROM THE VERY BEGINNING! Thursday afternoons, 12:00 – 1:15 PM At Piano for Pleasure your first experience at the piano will be fun and stress-free! Play familiar melodies and even create your own music while learning about keyboard geography, note names, basic rhythms, and easy chords. No prior knowledge will be assumed or expected; the emphasis is on personal enjoyment! Bring a lunch if you like, and bring a friend or two to share in the joy and FUN of making music at the piano! EARLY
ELEMENTARY (A LITTLE FURTHER ALONG!) Thursday afternoons, 1:15 – 2:30 PM If you have taken an Introductory class at Piano For Pleasure, or you played piano a little but want to review the basics before taking up the instrument again, this class is for you! Beginning with the “Prelude” book from the Piano Pronto series, our main focus will be learning to read music and coordinate both hands, but we will also have fun playing chords and using the rhythm and instrument features on the digital pianos to play popular tunes and create our very own keyboard orchestra!
ELEMENTARY (PIANO PRONTO “PRELUDE”) Wednesday mornings 10:00 – 11:15 AM This class is for current or previous Piano For Pleasure students already playing from “Prelude” book in the Piano Pronto series, or others playing at a similar level. Staying mostly in the key of C major, we will play solo and ensemble arrangements of familiar melodies from the folk, classical and popular traditions. We will also learn to play chords and progressions used in many classic pop and rock hits.
LATE ELEMENTARY (PIANO PRONTO “MOVEMENT 1″) Tuesday afternoons 1:15 – 2:30 PM This class is for current Piano For Pleasure students playing from “Movement 1” of the Piano Pronto series, or others playing at a similar level. Using accessible arrangements of familiar melodies from the classical and folk traditions, we’ll continue expanding our musical horizons by learning about major scale patterns and chords. We’ll also have fun using the instrument features on the digital pianos to play some cleverly arranged ensembles!
INTERMEDIATE I (Piano Pronto Movement 2) Tuesday afternoons 12:00 – 1:15 PM This relaxed-paced class is for current Piano For Pleasure students playing from Movement 2 of the Piano Pronto series, or any early-intermediate level pianist comfortable playing with both hands in the keys of C, G and F major. Have fun playing solo and ensemble arrangements of familiar melodies from the classical and folk traditions, and learn some basic chord progressions so you can play your favorite popular songs.
INTERMEDIATE II (Piano Pronto Movement 2, plus supplemental activities) Wednesday mornings 11:15 AM – 12:30 PM This class is for middle and upper intermediate pianists wanting to expand their musical horizons beyond what they learned in traditional lessons. You’ll love being part of a “piano orchestra” when we use the instrument sounds on the digital pianos to play ensembles, and you’ll marvel at how easy it can be to play your favorite popular songs using chords. Bring the rest of your morning coffee with you and join in the fun! For more information or to register, call 814.410.6144 or visit us on the web: lbwpiano.com
