Janet McCloskey Carlisle, MA, ATR-BC, is a professional visual artist and Art Therapist. Her four grandparents were native to Lithuania, and Lithuanian folk art patterns inspired her illustrations in this book.
Carlisle lives in Verona, Pennsylvania, with her husband, David, who is a Presbyterian minister. Their cat Frida is named after the artist Frida Kahlo. Carlisle creates out of her studio in their home and directs an Open Art Studio for children, youth, and adults at her church in Springdale, Pennsylvania. In this book she used gouache, water color pencil and ink to create her illustrations. She has exhibited and sold her work in the United States and the United Kingdom.
